What is a domain name and how can I get one?
A domain name is your address on the World Wide Web. To be accessed from anywhere in the world, a domain name must be registered with an ICANN accredited registrar. If you already have a domain name, there is no additional cost to use that domain name with Gemstream. If you need a domain name you can purchase one through the Gemstream order form. How do I transfer my site to Gemstream's servers?
Step 1: Sign up for a hosting account through the Gemstream order form.

Step 2: You will recieve a Welcome Email with your login information within 1 business day. Log into your account, upload your site, and configure your email boxes. Test your web site to make sure all scripts are functioning correctly.

Step 3: Contact your registar to have your domain name pointed to the Gemstream name servers. Your new name server information is included in your Welcome Email.

That's it! Your domain name will begin to resolve to your new web site within 24 to 72 hours.>

Why does a Bulk Reseller need 2 control panels to manage their hosting system?
Each Bulk Reseller reveived two control panels when they sign up. The first control panel is used to manage the resources purchased and support tickets opened with Gemstream. The second control panel, called an "Administrative Control Panel" is used to manage the reseller's hosting plans, domains, and end-users.     Top

What qualifies as an "account" within the Bulk Reseller Program?
An "account" within the Bulk Reseller Program equates to one control panel with its own data transfer allotment, disk quota and online invoice. One account can host many domains. Accounts are used by end-users to manage their domains and by resellers to manage their hosting business.
Account Types:
- administrative account - used to administer the reseller's entire hosting system
- tech support account - used to answer/manage trouble tickets from customers
- customer account - used by end-users to manage their domains

Are there limits to how many domains I can host with a Bulk Reseller plan?
The Bulk Reseller Program does not limit the number of domains you can host, just the resources those domains can consume. Bulk Reseller plans are designed to host many small to medium size web sites. Individual web sites using more than 500MB of disk space or 10GB of data transfer per month should not be hosted using these plans.    Top

How do Bulk Reseller control the disk space alloted to them?
Bulk Reseller's disk space is divided into allotments for web files, email, and databases. Bulk resellers can then permit certain hosting plans to use specific amounts of each type of disk space. Finally, web site owners can also limit the disk space given to each email box and FTP login.    Top

What is an "additional domain"?
Additional domains are web sites that can be purchased by member of the Reseller Program below the retail price. Each additional domain receives its own static IP address, disk space, data transfer and other dedicated features - features are not taken from the reseller's domain to create additional domains. Resellers can choose from Budget, Standard or e-Commerce packages. Additional domainss are not just subdirectories (www.yourdomain.com/customer) or third-level domains (customer.yourdomain.com). They are complete domains capable of full domain names that are owned by a Reseller.     Top

Are features deducted from the Reseller's domain to create additional domains?
Features (eg. disk space, data transfer, etc.) are not deducted from the Reseller's domain to create additional domains. Rather, each additional domain receives additional features.     Top

How much does it cost to join the Reseller Program?
Purchasing the reseller package, which includes a domain to host your site and the ability to create subdomains, is $29.95/month billed quarterly (total $89.85). Additional domains are available at discount prices and are billed on a monthly basis. Purchase the Reseller Package through the online order form.     Top

Can I pay monthly for additional domains?
Additional domains can be purchased monthly, quarterly, semiannually, or annually. The Reseller Package itself is billed quarterly. Resellers will receive a consolidated bill each month for all domains.     Top

Do additional domains include customizable Control Panels?
